SoundSmith is not a conventional general-purpose tracking room. Its acoustic design, controlled diffusion, reflective hardwood performance floor, low-noise systems, sightlines and silent ergonomic seating were developed together to capture guitars, acoustic instruments and vocals at their best.
The performer stays comfortable and focused while the room allows the instrument to develop naturally.

The microphone collection, analog front ends, routing and monitoring at SoundSmith were chosen and configured as a working system — each component selected for what it contributes to the whole.
The room is built to make meaningful decisions quickly, without interrupting the work.
ROUTING & COMPARISON

Computer-controlled routing makes it possible to compare elite microphones, preamps, processors and complete signal chains quickly, without repatching or breaking the momentum of a performance.
The result is not simply an impressive collection of equipment; it is a system designed to make meaningful choices while the artist is still in the moment.
